Does this sound like a good computer?
There is a team I am interested in buying the local classifieds where I live thats listed as computer games, CUSTOM for $ 300. I've always wanted a gaming PC, but could not afford the $ 1000 + I see going for. I have exactly $ 300, but I do not know much about gaming PCs and I just want to know if this is worth buying or not. The Reading List: Soyo KT600 Motherboard 512 MBytes of RAM ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB Video Card AMD Athlon XP processor 3200 + SONY DVD RW SONY DRU-530A CD-ROM Creative Labs Audigy LS Series 7.1 24 bit Sound card 150G SATA HD Microsoft Windows XP Pro (On clean install) w / Service Pack 2 Microsoft Plus Digital Media Edition Microsoft Office 2003 Nero Ultra Edition PowerDVD DVDDecrypter WarCraft III Complete with Anti Virus and Spyware protection I just want a fast computer that can play. Should I buy this team and is worth $ 300? Any advice or information, please?
Everything sounds good except the memory card graphics and CD and DVD. You should consider 1GB or more of RAM. The graphics card should be a little better. I'd wait for Vista (Jan 30 2007) if I were you. The CD / DVD must be capable of burning DVD or CD-R: they are cheaper and play in more places. It is the way that a value of $ 300.
