Can i hook up the laptop to tv to watch programmes?
hi when watching on line can I hook my lap top to my tv? Do I need a special adaptor or is it even possible? I have a decent tv which is flat screen HD ready etc.

You can do this with any tv, however if you have a LCD tv its going ot look pretty darn good and be very easy to do. Check out the back of your TV and see if you can find (usually blue) a VGA port /w 15 pins. All you need is vga monitor cable to connect Your laptop to Your TV. Also note, on your the same 15 pin port probably is there. So just match those up so you know what they look like. Now if you have a pretty new laptop, you may have HDMI out, there for you can use and HDMI cable from your computer to your TV. You will get a Better picture with this. Once you do this, you have to set your tv (they usually call it source) to the proper out put. My calls it VGA, some call it pc. However if you do have hdmi out of the laptop, then the tv usually calls that out put HDMI1 HDMI2 ETC. Now on your computer usually on the F4 key there is a picture of computer monitor. Hold dwn the FN key by the left ctrl and alt and push the F4 key and let go. That tells the laptop to send the signal out to the tv. Now note its usually the f4 key, if its not it will be right around there on one of the F keys. Hope this helps
