rain barrel system / rain harvesting?
I can not seem to find what I'm searching the web, and I know that it is impossible get one that covers all the answer, but what is your best estimate of the amount of money a rain barrel can save? The only answers they seem to find on the Web is "not much money." I guess the most useful advice would be expressed in cents per gallon. Again, I know it's impossible to get a precise answer, but how much does the city charge per gallon of water used? 1 / 2 cent per gallon, 2 cents gallon? Again, I know it's impossible to answer with much precision, but none of their opinions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! PS I live in the Pacific Northwest. I know that the cost of water varies greatly not only from city to city, but one country to another.
Before you know how much you can save, you have to know what you're paying for water now to find that in the first place. Then you have to factor in the amount of rain barrels will cost. A rain collection system save me almost nothing since I'm in a well. All it would save electricity from the pump is not used.
