Blue ray is worth the extra money and change?
I am a big movie geek, so I love watching movies. But I still use basic DVD. I'm going to blue ray, but money is a little tight right now. And I'm sure blue ray is more a luxury than a necessity from the DVD is already of good quality. Only I thought I would ask your opinion on whether it is worth?
It depends on your "environment." I agree that regular DVD relationship widescreen aspect (16:9) are probably "enough." Please note that internet streaming is likely to make local optical storage (DVD, Blu Ray, etc) irrelevant in about two years. Heck, you * can * render irrelevant now ... Netflix, iTunes, and many others and BlockBuster to download in high definition and streaming many movie releases (current and past titles) ... I guess the "extras" that have some discs are fun and all, but you may not that the experience of the film "may be for. Of course, you need a TV or computer capable of handling high-definition content take advantage of higher resolution than HD movies bring ... Personally, I'm jumping Blu Ray.
