Ion Black

Why is this solution containing Eriochrome Black T, HCl and distilled water is red wine-colored?

This question is about the result of my experiment. According to wikipedia, protonated form of Eriochrome Black T is blue, but why is the solution over light colored red wine? Should not be blue, because the hydrogen ions present.

If you read the rest of the article in Wikipedia is red when the complexes with metal ions. Their solution should have the red metal that from somewhere - probably used tap water instead of distilled water water, or dirty glassware.
